Sneak Peek!

The 1920s, in North America and many countries in Europe, was a time of reinvention and exploration. A renaissance in the true sense of the word, scientifically, politically, socially, and in fashion. Women were free to wear comfortable clothes and add traditionally male affectations. There was emphasis put on ease of movement and bit of fun. With this in mind, I designed this little Summer top. Classic stripes and casual fit with that 1920s long waist! Look for the surprise little intarsia detail…seen in a multitude of household items and art deco pieces of the time.

From designer Kirsten Singer: When I was building this collection, I really wanted to select a theme that would allow me to create timeless garments that were interesting to knit, easy to wear, and could be knit throughout the year.  As I was trying to come up with some ideas for a theme, I came across a photo of some Sperry Top-Sider loafers, and it hit me…what was more timeless and classic than preppy, nautical knits.

So once I had my theme figured out, I began to think about the pieces I would wear throughout the year on or around the water. So, things I would wear if I got invited sailing, something to wear at the end of a long beach day and the air starts to get a chill, or even something to wear along the boardwalk on a cold fall evening.

I designed this pullover to be the perfect pair with some skinny jeans and your favorite pair of boat shoes.  Camden is designed to be worn on our near the beach, worked in a worsted cotton yarn, it’s soft, and the perfect amount of warmth when you need it.  Want to be daring? Wear this over a cute shift dress and sexy booties.

The Designer: Klever Knits was created to enable others to knit interesting, yet classic pieces.  My design aesthetic tends towards the classic, but a hint modern edge. Neutral palettes of creams and greys tend to be my go-to’s, but I am happy to throw in pops of color here and there!: For questions about this pattern please contact Kirsten Singer at kleverknits2@gmail.com.
