Announcing the Special Collections Knit and Crochet Along!

Time for a summer knit and crochet along, wouldn’t you say?!

Holla Knits has published two special collections – these are collections with a theme outside of the usual Spring, Fall, and Accessories Collections.

2013 brought you the Holla Knits Crochet Collection!

For the month of August we’ll be knitting and crocheting up these 11 patterns. The prize? To be able to help choose the theme of the 2015 Special Collection! Even if you just cast one one of these projects you’ll get a vote. Finish something? 3 votes! Each finished project also qualifies for lots of grand prizes.

So you in?! Let’s break it down!

Special Collection Crochet & Knit – Along: Every pattern in either the Crochet Collection or the Home Collection are being -alonged!

Cast On Day: Monday August 4th
Finished By: Friday August 29th

Win Votes: Everything you do will win you votes in the 2015 Special Collection decision!

Start a project and share a WIP pic on that project’s Ravelry page = 1 vote! Even if you don’t end up finishing the project by the end of the K+CAL you still can cast a vote.

Finish a project = 3 votes! Share your FO and you earn 3 more votes. And you’ll get 3 votes for each project you finish.

Grand Prizes: Each posted FO is entered to win a bunch of fun Grand Prizes! Including a 2015 HK subscription, naming rights to one of the 2015 special collection patterns, and to get to pick colors for one of the 2015 special collection patterns.

So what are the options?

  1. Holla Knits Babies! – A collection of garments and accessories for babies.
  2. Warm Weather Accessories – Each Accessories Collection is pretty cold weather focused. This would be a collection of warm weather accessories to keep you decked out all summer long.
  3. Holla Knits Crochets Again! – Did you love the first HK Crochet Collection and just want more crochet patterns? You’ll love Holla Knits Crochets Again!
  4. HK Simple – HK puts out a lot of challenging patterns, but sometimes you just want some hot and simple projects? We can do that!

If you want a say in what HK will be putting out next year, this K+CAL is for you!

We’ll be planning, sharing yarn ideas and project plans over at the Holla Knits Ravelry group. I’m so excited to see what everyone will be working on and follow the progress! Will you be joining us?!

    what a great idea!! i totally will be knitting excelsior, and hopefully this will give me the motivation to finish my Deco Daisies as well! I put it down to knit Hawt Sands…..oh the woes of too many cute Holla patterns ;D
