The Ravelry group has been filled with activity as KALers show off their yarn, swatches and talk size modifications!

This Week’s Goal: Cast on! Katie provides a super clear chart to follow, but to make things easier you can place stitch markers between each 15-stitch repeat to keep track of where you are. We’ll be knitting two repeats of the chart–check out where that ends in the oh-so-sophisticated diagram I made.

Our goal is shorter for the first week so we can get used to the scallop pattern and get our stranded knitting skills up to speed. We’ll beef up the workload later on!

My one tip is to try and be consistent how you strand your yarn so the motif really shines. If you strand your new color below your old one when the new color is added, make sure you keep stranding that new color below the old. And with all stranded knitting, keep an eye on your tension.

Don’t hesitate to send an email or jump in the Ravelry forum if you have any questions or concerns. See you here in a week!
